Footer Setup Guide

This guide explains how to configure the Footer section of your Shopify store — the bottom section of your site that displays critical brand info, navigation links, contact details, and legal content. A well-optimized Footer improves user experience, builds trust, and helps visitors find key resources quickly.

All settings mentioned below can be found in:
Online Store → Themes → Customize → Footer

Global Footer Settings

These settings control site-wide features and branding elements in your Footer.

Follow on Shop

Allows customers to follow your store on the Shop app (drives repeat engagement).

Country/Region Selector

Let visitors switch between regions (critical for international stores with location-specific pricing/shipping).

Language Selector

Let visitors switch between store languages (for multilingual stores).

Payment Methods

Displays icons for accepted payment methods (builds trust by showing secure checkout options).

Copyright

Displays legal branding and ownership info (required for most businesses).

Footer Block Settings

Add and customize content blocks to populate your Footer (use the + button in the customizer to add blocks).

About Store Block

Shows brand context to help visitors connect with your business (labeled TALK ABOUT YOUR STORE in the preview).

Menu Block (Quick Links)

Displays navigational links (labeled QUICK LINKS in the preview) to help visitors find key pages.

Include links to high-value pages: About Us, Shipping Policy, Returns, and Contact — these reduce customer friction.

Text Block (Need Help?)

Displays contact info (labeled NEED HELP? in the preview) to let visitors reach your support team.

Email Signup Block

Collects subscriber emails (covered in the Email Signup (Footer Section) guide — see that document for full setup).

Theme Settings for Footer

These settings (under the Theme Settings dropdown) control styling and social links for your Footer.

Social Media Links

Add links to your social profiles (icons auto-appear in the Footer if links are entered).

Border Style

Adds a border to media, modals, and product cards (affects Footer elements like the Email Signup block).

Global Border Radius

Changes the corner shape of buttons, images, and selectors (including Footer elements).

Best Practices

The Footer is more than just "bottom-of-page content" — it’s a critical trust and navigation tool. Invest time in making it clear, up-to-date, and aligned with your brand!
